George Hosato Takei (born April 20, 1937 in Los Angeles, California) is a Japanese-American actor. He is best known for his role in the TV series Star Trek, in which he played a steerer Hikaru Sulu on the USS Enterprise.
Within 1942, when a Japanese attack in Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt authorized the removal of all over 110,000 Japanese-Americans to "relocation" camps. Among victims forced into internment camps were a Takei personal, which involved immature George. For him this was an dangerous undertaking & journeying to an exotic land known as Arkansas. Inside 1966 he met by having an ideal immature producer known as Gene Roddenberry who cast him as Mr. Sulu on the television series Star Trek. When working on the indicate he appeared when Captain Nim in the John Wayne film The Green Berets (1968). George Takei has since appeared around many TV & film productions, including a number one six Star Trek motion pictures, & in todays world occurs as regular on the sci-fi convention circuit throughout the world. He has too acted & provided voice acting for many science fiction computer games, including Freelancer and numerous Star Trek'' games. Takei has an extended going feud using William Shatner. He openly despises Shatner, making public statements in radio shows, especially a Howard Stern Show. He bases his contempt in Shatner's alleged in-placed behavior when you took a motion-picture photography of the Star Trek TV series and flick. Takei accuses Shatner of showboating, stealing lines, & trying to keep more actors (including Takei) in the background. Takei as well believes that Shatner is personally responsible his slow rank advancement in the fabricated Starfleet.
